Plastics
Plastic is one of the most popular and useful materials of all times. Yet that popularity is part of the problem: we now use about 20 times more plastic than we did 50 years ago, and that number will only continue to rise with time.
Reusing and recycling plastics optimizes its lifespan and helps protect the environment by reducing the amount of solid waste going to the landfill. It also helps conserve non-renewable fossil fuels (oil) and reduces the emission of gases (carbon dioxide) into the atmosphere.
